Pete threw for three touchdowns as Catamounts beat Aviators for second consecutive win.

In the a do-or-die time for both teams, Catamounts (2-2) beat the Aviators for their first back-to-back wins of the year. Panchito Pistoles threw four second-half touchdown passes for the Aviators, who fell to 0-4 under head coach Howard Rockerduck.

The Catamounts took a 27-0 halftime lead before Aviators scored two touchdowns in the third quarter. But Catamounts linebacker Pierino forced a fumble by Pistoles at the Aviators 27, and Pete found his son, Peter “P.J.” Pete, Jr., on a crossing pattern three plays later to push Catamounts lead to 34-14.

Pete had 207 yards passing along with three touchdowns.

Pete also threw two touchdown passes to running back Uncle Bob in the first half. The 17-yard completion to Uncle Bob in the second quarter was an electrifying display of force and three brutal stiff arms.

Peg Pete kicked field goals of 22, 26 and 42 yards for Catamounts, which won its second consecutive game after starting the season with heartbreaking losses to the sloppy play in the fourth quarter to Bow-Tique Bow-Dazzlers and pure domination by Gladstone Gander and Black Magic. Max Hare returned a punt 71 yards for a score in the first half.

The Aviators closed the margin to 37-29 with 7:26 left on Pistoles fourth touchdown pass, to wide receiver Rockhead Rooster, followed by a 2-point conversion pass to Ellsworth. But on the Aviators’ next possession, Catamounts defensive nose tackle, Fat Cat, sacked Pistoles on a third-and-9 that started at the Catamounts 20, and Yellow Beak’s desperation pass on a fake punt fell incomplete.

The Aviators had one more possession, but Pistoles’ pass was tipped by Catamounts’ linebacker, Kat Nipp, and intercepted by Pistol Pete at the Catamounts 34 with 1:58 left.

Coming into the game, Catamounts had allowed 12 points this entire season in the fourth quarter; the Aviators scored 15 points in the fourth quarter in the losing effort.
