Ferdinand “Ferdie” Fieldmouse is the son of Bow-Tique Bow-Dazzlers player, Amelia Fieldmouse, and the nephew of Mouseketeers team captain, Mickey Mouse. He first appeared with his brother and teammate, Mortimer “Morty” Fieldmouse in Disney Legend Floyd Gottfredson‘s Mickey Mouse Sunday strip story line titled “Mickey’s Nephews” on September 18, 1932.

Though Ferdinand seems to be more of a tag-along to the Mouseketeers’ star wide receiver, Mortimer “Morty” Fieldmouse, Ferdie starts on the opposite end of the Mouseketeers’ spread offense as the number two receiver.

When did Ferdie and Morty move in with Mickey?

September 18, 1932 – the Sunday edition of the Mickey Mouse comic strip in American newspapers. Ferdie’s mother asked Mickey to look after him and his brother for a moment, but have stayed with him since.

Despite having better overall offensive statistics with the Mouseketeers and predating the Quack Pack trio, Mickey’s nephews have yet to achieve the fame and notoriety of Donald’s nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie.
