Quack Pack beat Wild Mavericks, 41-24
Three stadium construction delays weren’t enough to stop the Quack Pack from defeating Wild Mavericks, 41-24, in the inaugural Mickey Mouse Athletics football season. Webby Vanderquack rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns, and Launchpad McQuack added another touchdown to go along with 110 rushing yards.

Being tied at 17 a piece was an accomplishment in itself, as the Mavericks offensive rushing attack looked horrible. The Quack Pack came out tough and smart depleting the majority of the 3rd quarter on two long drives resulting in a 3-yard touchdown by Vanderquack and 2-yard touchdown by McQuack.
After falling behind by 14, the Mavericks got to within 7 points at the start of the 4th quarter.
“I thought we had a chance there,” Clarabelle Cow, team captain of the Wild Mavericks. “We had possession deep in their territory twice in the first half but couldn’t score. It was 31-24, but I felt we were much closer than that.”
The Quack Pack continued its football legacy quickly and decisively.
Quarterback Donald Duck drove his team 80 yards in eight plays after a touchback on the opening kickoff.
Vanderquack culminated the drive with a 29-yard touchdown run straight up the middle.
On the very next drive, quarterback Ben Ali Gator hit tight end Hyacinth Hippo on an 8-yard slant for a touchdown. The Mavericks would take the lead in the 2nd quarter as they would capitalize on an interception thrown by Dewey Duck resulting in 2-yard touchdown run by Ferdinand the Bull. Gator finished with 231 passing yards and two touchdowns, but threw one interception that could have given the Mavericks momentum going into the 4th quarter.
Quack Pack would score one more touchdown, and both teams would split field goals before halftime.
